Description:

Direct human forcings.

Annual country-level population, urban population and age structure (in five-year age bands) based on SSP2 from IIASA (population & age structure) and NCAR (urbanshare).
Data is available for the following time periods: Annual country-level population (2006-2299), urban population (2006-2299), age structure (2010-2100).

Scenarios: ssp2soc
Variables: pop
Caveats

Note that there will not be a smooth transition between the historical, country-level population data and these future data.

For ISIMIP participants, these files are available for download on the DKRZ server using the path /ISIMIP/ISIMIP2b/InputData/population/.

Currently they are also available via an rsync facility (described here: https://www.isimip.org/gettingstarted/data-access/#for-external-non-participant-users), for which the password will be provided upon request (isimip-data@pik-potsdam.de).
